C-peptide test is an important test that is largely unknown. When people think of the most important test for diabetes, they usually think of the A1c test. But a c-peptide test is actually more important in many cases because it can help a person find out if they are living with type 1.5 diabetes or if they are living with insulin dependent type 2 diabetes. C-peptide is commonly used for the very clear distinction between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.

C-peptide is released into the blood as a byproduct of the production of insulin. This substance can be a game changer for many people living with diabetes. If you don't know your c-peptide level and are having trouble controlling your blood glucose, it may be a good idea to get it tested.
